FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

Directions

1In a large bowl, combine egg, water, salt, and pepper; mix well. Add tomato slices in batches, turning to coat well.

2In a shallow dish, combine flour and cornmeal mix; mix well. Dip each tomato slice in flour mixture, coating completely, and place on a baking sheet.

3In a large skillet, heat Zoye Low Saturated Fat Premium Vegetable Oil Premium Vegetable Oil over high heat until hot but not smoking. Fry coated tomatoes a few at a time for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until golden.

5Drain on a paper towel-lined platter. Season with additional salt, if desired, and serve.

5 medium-sized green tomatoes, cored and cut into ¼-inch slices

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup self-rising white cornmeal mix

1½ cups Zoye Low Saturated Fat Premium Vegetable Oil Premium Vegetable Oil
